Need something to do on Earth Day (Wednesday April 22)? Why not join me in Ashby at the Grange for a fun-filled family friendly event. Here are the details:
Cathy Kristofferson will be talking about building and using a solar oven.
Roberta Flashman will demonstrate easy sewing for warmth in the home.
Bill Standwood will introduce the Ashby visions and strategies highlighting conservation, arigculture, and the green industries.
Stump the Dump game where the Ashby kindergarteners will be bringing in items to ask Bill Standwood if they can be recycled.
Troy and Karen Bottger talking about a flexible solar panel and an energy bike used to charge batteries. (That's me!)
Tamara Buckley-Leclerc talking about local crafts, spinning demo, farming in small spaces, canning, preserving or recycled crafts demo.
In addition to the the presentations there will be a raffle for many nice (and green) items. There will of course be refreshments including coffee and apple pie (yum!) in addition to many display tables.
So if you get a chance, swing by the Ashby Grange at 7pm on Earth Day (Wednesday April 22) and join in on the fun.
Here is the web site for the event which includes directions:
